Andy White
Andy White trained as a Naval Architect, he is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
He started his career in the high speed craft sector. He was involved in all aspects of design, production, trials and operation. He was responsible for making sales to Companies and Governments throughout the world, including USA, Europe, Far East, Scandinavia and Middle East. He sat on the committee of the Civil Aviation Authority responsible for the Safety regulations affecting Hovercraft.
He has been involved in fast craft operations around the world, ranging from trials with the Swedish Armed forces, oil exploration in Pakistan, mine clearance trials in Kuwait to passenger operations in the jungles of Borneo.
On his sales trips he saw an opportunity to provide British shipbuilding design expertise into Shipyards in the USA. With a partner he set up Matchtech Engineering Ltd in 1990 and through mergers and organic growth Matchtech Group has grown to be the biggest single site recruitment company in the UK. Floated on AIM in 2006 turnover in 2009 was in excess of £250 million.
